This past week, there was an experience that was re-brought up of a mistake a close family friend had made years ago. Having this mistake brought back up, made me realize how important it is to forgive and forget. Life is too short to keep holding on to little mistakes that have been made throughout the years. People change and mature and I don't understand the need some people have to remember mistakes of someones past.
There are many things to worry about in life and judging people by the mistakes of their past is not one of those things. Life is too short to only remember the negative. That is why this week I am going to only think positive of people. I am not one to hold someones mistakes against them, but it's hard not to judge. That is why my goal for this week is to try my best not to judge and to forgive and forget.
You have a really good point! It's also important to not dwell on our own past mistakes. I know I have a tendency to let my past mistakes come back and make me feel terrible all over again. It's not healthy and we and everyone else will progress so much better if we focus on what we and they are doing now.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot!! Thank you for this great reminder. I like how your goal is to think positively of others this week. It makes a huge difference. My mantra for this year has been, "See the good in others, then help them see it in themselves." It has brought me so much joy and changed the way I look at each person I meet. My relationships have been deepened, and I feel a lot more gratitude in my life now.
