New Semester, New Assignments

Being a new semester, I have learned many new things. One of my favorite things that I am currently learning to do is play the guitar. This past Tuesday my first beginning guitar class was held. This day was the first time I have ever sat down and tried to place my fingers in a position to create a sound that doesn't hurt the ears of many. As I quietly sat in the classroom listening to my professor explain how to hold the guitar, tune the guitar, and play the guitar, I realized the challenge it was going to be for me to become a decent guitar player.
It is said that "practice makes perfect" and when it comes to learning to play the guitar, I know that is what it is going to take. The more I practice, the better I will become. Its going to be hard and my fingers are going to hurt but my end goal is to become comfortable with my guitar playing skills. My short term goal that I am going to achieve before my next class held on Tuesday, is to master the three guitar cords I have learned and be able to play them without looking at my fingers. This is not going to be easy and it is going to take a lot of patience, but I know if I stick to it, I can do it.

  1. That's so cool that you are learning to play the guitar! Mastering the chords sounds difficult, but it will be so worth it when you're able to jam out to your favorite songs!

  2. Guitar is my favorite instrument by far. It has such a beautiful sound! I wish I'd taken proper lessons and learned technique more carefully in the beginning because I still play very sloppily. It sounds like you're off to a much better start. Good luck!

Apologizes if this posts twice. My internet is being unreliable.

  3. Playing musical instruments is one of my weak points. I tried to learn how to play the guitar in grade 7 but quickly gave up. I wish i would have stuck with it... practice hard and learn to love it so you will not want to quit. Learning how to play the guitar will be awesome. Good luck
